I want to be in a netlabel.

There is no label

Hm. I always thought about this. I release music for years and never had proper advertising or a group of people that would be glad I’d release stuff for them. A little closed community in which we can try some collaborations or stuff like that. I looked at netlabels on google. Most of them are not what I’d like. Sites that simply accept anything and anyone are often the case. Thats lame. Everyone wants to advertise him or herself and doesn’t have any interest in anybody. Just like Jamendo.

Hm. Well, if theres any neat netlabel reading this, you could write something in the comments and I might think about you.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Well. I run a netlabel, and “accepting anything” couldn’t be further from the truth. In the past few weeks I have received around 15 submissions – around 7 were from returning artists, who I am happy to continue to promote. Of the other 7-8, there was only 1 that fitted in with the sound of the label.

Take a look at the phlow database, and try to find a netlabel that suits your style of music.

Some person from a very very awesome netlabel wrote me yesterday. I’ve sent him some examples, but I don’t know if I’m, well, experienced enough to fit in there. If not, I’ll check phlow I guess.

Seems they were not interested in me as nobody responds. Phlow is incredibly messy, but I guess some day I’ll look at all the labels they have in there. Personally I don’t think theres a lot of hope finding a label that I’d like by randomly searching phlow.

  4. this isnt a netlabel, but a huge forum. it costs 10 bucks to join, but knowing that forum, theyd fucking LOVE your music. , thanks to that forum. Other artists have released albums on there that sound like this but not nearly as good, and instantly gotten thousands of people following them and there music. check it out.

  5. whoops, thought it would show up instead of just a link as my name, http://www.somethingawful.com incase you dont click the name

I like somethingawful, actually. They keep making me laugh about minecraft. I think I’ll join them eventually. And you say theres a place for showing off music? Just dandy! I like showing off!

If you’re still interested, I can offer you a place on http://www.breakbitmusic.com

Though it’s not huge in terms of audience, I’m confident I’ve developed a site that’ll give your fans a rich listening experience. Joining’d be non-exclusive, you can pull any of your music whenever you choose (Unless its on a label compilation, which I’d ask your permission first). Contact me if you’re interested dawg.
