This made some interesting traffic.
Let me explain a little. It’s snippets of upcoming minecraft songs. About 6.
There are more than double of that amount. It’s about 45 minutes of music.
After talking with Notch, I decided that all that music is only one half of the soundtrack. The second half is maybe more similar to the original music, but shorter in song length, and not as slow or always melancholic. These songs will be event triggered.
The music in that mp3 is triggered by yourself.
Biggest complaints:
“Too upbeat” – Sheesh, like I can please everyone.
“Unfitting” – I don’t think so. It’s what every creeper would love to listen to.
“How would that work with this and that event” – As I said, these songs are triggered by yourself, so any unfitting music in certain events would have been your fault.
Thats all. Thank you for all the kind comments.
has the soundtrack been released? i would love to listen to it.
Well, my first thought was “This seems a little too jazzy for Minecraft”, but I recognize I haven’t heard it while playing the game yet. It could create an interesting atmosphere. I support this.
And about the event-triggered songs, just wow! That would be amazing. Can you imagine a rock song playing when you start a forest fire? Or a dramatic melody when you are slowly being overrun by zombies? Creepers would love it indeed.
To hell with the critics. I play the sample while I play Minecraft now. It’s rather enjoyable, and I don’t think you should change a thing. Keep up the good work.
i love the music in minecraft.
i wish you and notch would have worked out a deal to release the soundtrack for people who purchased the game!
Wow! I thought Notch made the three tracks that are in Minecraft. Did you make all three of them? I only heard one of them (the first one) in this sample track.
I really love the calm, soothing music. I didn’t expect that from you after listening to Sine, Bushes and Marshmallows, and Circle. Though I suppose Circle is more calming and relaxed, similar to Minecraft music.
Thanks for sharing your musical talents with the rest of us!
We have a deal for a soundtrack. Just the soundtrack isn’t done yet. As is the game. And I made all three of the old ones. I’m completely responsible for the music!
Hello C418, I was wondering if I could have the midi of the third track of minecraft, in the old one. I just want to learn the piano part, since I really like it. Don’t know if it’s the good place to ask, but well.
Thanks in advance
